Sapadere Canyon (40 min)

Sapadere Canyon Alanya

Sapadere is known for its beautiful valley. The valley has a footbridge of no less than 538 meters that crosses the river. It is a great experience to walk on this. The gorge itself is 300 meters long and ends at a beautiful waterfall. There are many small restaurants and swimming spots in the Canyon. There are also regular toilets along the way.

Until recently, the village of Sapadere and the Sapadere Canyon with its beautiful valley were unknown to the general public. Due to a Turkish campaign aimed at bringing tourists to this place, and the construction of the beautiful footbridge, the Sapadere Canyon is now a very popular place with tourists.

The villagers themselves now also benefit from tourism. In the village there is an opportunity to eat a traditional meal and there are several places of interest. For example, tourists can watch carpets being woven by hand by women, there is a 200-year-old watermill and the trout farm can be visited.

Most special in the village is the silk weaving. Silkworms are bred in the village. The whole process from silkworm to silk can be seen. Close to the Sapadere Canyon are also a banana plantation and a marble factory.

The valley is easily accessible for prams, for example. This is mainly due to the opening of the walkway in 2008. It is possible to explore the more difficult to access parts of the valley over rocks and through sections that are difficult to access.

The access road to the valley can be difficult in places. With prams and people with reduced mobility, it is certainly advisable to go with an excursion in the form of a jeep safari.
